The AJ Ing Collective is a high energy Funk/Fusion band based in Toronto, Ontario. Their sound has been crafted after bands like; Snarky Puppy, Lettuce and The Meters. The Collective, created in 2012, is a unique band able to perform in various configurations; a quartet with drum, bass, guitar and keys, to a full nine-piece band with a horn section. The AJ Ing Collective prides itself on always providing a unique performance. The AJ Ing Collective is lead by drummer AJ Ing. AJ is an award-winning drummer, versatile musician and educator with experience in many different musical genres, including Jazz, Funk, Latin and Blues. In 2014, AJ was the recipient of the Mark Kelso percussion award. Placed third in the 2017 Artist View Music Contest for his original composition “Stout” and also obtained the Zildjian Cymbals Bursary the same year.
