James Griffith is a national-award winning Toronto-based jazz saxophonist, bandleader and composer. Winner of the 2024 International Saxophone Symposium Jazz Saxophone Competition, Griffith has had the pleasure of working and performing with national and international jazz icons such as Dayna Stephens, Terri Lyne Carrington, David Virelles, The U.S. Navy Commodores Big Band, Kirk MacDonald, Mike Downes and more. As a highly in-demand bandleader, composer and sideman, Griffith can be found regularly performing at historic Toronto venues such as the Canadian Opera Company, The Jazz Bistro, The Rex, The Pilot, The Emmet Ray and more.
Steve Carson is thriving as an in-demand saxophonist and composer in Toronto and Canada at large. From the small town of Powell River, British Columbia on the Canadian West Coast, Steve’s musical style embraces his early jazz influences including Dexter Gordon, Charlie Parker and John Coltrane, as well as Canadian Saxophone masters including Kirk Macdonald, Alex Dean, Phil Dwyer and Kelly Jefferson. Following Steve’s success in High School as a member of the National Youth Jazz Combo, he has since shared the stage with many Canadian greats including the Shuffle Demons, Kelly Jefferson, Jodi Proznick, Mike Downes and has appeared at International Jazz Festivals around the world. For Steve, music is a lifelong pursuit and he takes extreme joy in sharing his love for it with others.
