Brendan Davis was instantly taken by jazz upon first hearing and began playing acoustic bass in high school. At university he studied with Oscar Peterson, Dave Holland, George Russell, Pat LaBarbera, George Garzone, and Lorne Lofsky, to name a few. After graduating from the New England Conservatory in Boston with a Masters Degree in Jazz Performance, Brendan has played mostly in and around the Toronto area, becoming one of the more in-demand bassists in the city. He has worked with such local icons as Bernie Senensky, Terry Clarke, Norman Marshall Villeneuve, Reg Schwager, and Perry White. He is a regular member of the Laura Hubert Group, the Peter Hill Quintet, and leads his own group, Boom for Rent, playing many of the local clubs and festivals.
